Orion Haulout - 2001
Hey! Whadder ya doin' to my BOAT?!?
At the Napa Marina, Orion comes out of the water for a haulout. Every so often a boat needs bottom cleaning and paint, survey, checkout of the through the hull fittings, and propeller and running gear service.
So! That's how you get a big boat out of the water!
The Orion is cradled and braced just right for her extended stay ashore.
Then she receives a pressure wash job to take the first coat of crud and growth off.
After a LOT of sanding and scraping, Orion stands ready for a new bottom paint job.
The stern is repaired
One propeller was replaced to provide counter-rotating props, and one propeller was serviced. The supports, struts, skegs, and keel were inspected. After a survey, the entire boat was pronounced "sound".
Orion is Ready to Cruise!
