Book Report Suggestions
For a grade of "A":
- Essay:
- Problem Solution
- Report of Information
- Observation
- Biographical Sketch
- Autobiographical Incident
- Speculation
Resume of one of the main characters
Create a doll with appropriate costume
Create a puppet play with theater, script, props, and puppets and perform it
Make a film strip and viewing machine to demonstrate one episode from the story
Present a dramatic reaading from the story
Write a comic book version of the story
Pantomime a scene of the story
Present a flannel board story or colorful chalk talk
Dress up as one of the characters and tell the story from that person's point of view
Create a sculpture that is symbolic of the story
Create a game about your story
Make a code machine and encode a message
Write and perform or record a song acapella or with accompaniment
Contract with the teacher for a project of your choice.
Each type of report may only be used once. The grade is not an automatic one but depends upon quality and thoroughness of presentation.
For a grade of "B":
- Make a scrap book page
- Make a bulletin board
- Make a shadow box
- Make a poster
- Create a quiz
- Create a guess the ending folder
- Write a letter recommending the book

- Make a story wheel
- Create a collage
- Create a mobile
- Make a wanted poster
- Write a newspaper about the book
- Contract with the teacher for another project

For a grade of "C":
- Create a bookmark
- Make a crossword puzzle
- Create a book jacket
- Make a shadow plate
- Write a 100 word summary
- Make a shield for a character
- Research the author and other books by him/her
- Create a poem
- Draw a scene from the book
- Make a story cube
- Contract with the teacher for another project

For all projectswhich are of the "artistic" type, please include a 3X5 card whichincludes name (yours) name and author of the book, and a short explanation of the relevance of the project.
