This explanation is for all students, present and future, who are faced with the unsavory task of wirting an essay. 
     Although there are many different types of essays from which to chose, this deals only with the simplest and most structured of them all - the five-paragraph essay.  It is easy to learn and easy to follow, and it should serve you well in most of your high school and college classes which require you to write formal essays.
     This explanation is designed to assist you on those dark, lonely nights when you are home alone with a stack of blank paper, a pen, a deadline, and no idea where to start.  Once you do get started, it should help answer any questions that might spring up along the way.  There are tips on many aspects of writing, from brainstorming ideas, to outlining, to punctuation, to grammar, to footnoting..  It should help you write a lively, informative five-paragraph essay of which you will be proud .  Good luck!
