A Good Pet?
Green iguanas also
called common iguanas are native to Mexico, and
South America but
they are kept as pets in many other places as well.
The green iguana
can grow up to six feet in length. Unlike
other lizards
that have difculty digesting plants the iguana
feeds on fruit flowers and
leaves. Since iguanas are use to
high temperatures pets must be provided
with a heated lamp or rock
at all times. Many people have enjoyed this
unusual pet however
as a result of their capture for the pet trade iguanas
are in danger
of extinction in many places.
