LIBRARY CARD: Have a Sonoma County library card in your name for use in research, internet access, and reading. Due 9/11/01.
READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. You will need to spend this time to finish the required literature books and books of your choice for book reports. The Giver - Double entry journal -- Due 9/19/01.
VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Do Unit 1 in the textbook - all exercises except "Write a Letter" and "Test-Taking Tactics." There will be a test Friday. Hand in the homework with the test. Basic: commit, commission, emit, emission, submit, submission, remit, remission, transmit, transmission, omit, omission, intercede, intercession, succeed, succession, concede, concession, recede, recession. Review: violate, violation, detect, detection. Challenge: revoke, revocation, provoke, provocation. For a grade of "C" the standard is 20 words written correctly; "B" is 25 words; "A" 30 words. Completed homework is half the grade.
