Homework Helps 2001-2 - Week 6

October 1-5, 2001

READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. You will need to spend this time to finish the required literature books and books of your choice for book reports. Animal Farm - double entry journals again. When you finish Animal Farm, have your parents sign a log and turn it in 10/12; October's general log is due 10/26.

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Do Unit 5 due Friday 10/5/01. Basic: chord, cord, choral, coral, cymbal, symbol, aisle, isle, ascent, assent, stationary, stationery, site, cite, canvas, canvass, phase, faze, descent, dissent. Review: compliment, complement, capital, capitol. Challenge: callous, callus, caret, carat. Do pages 36, 37, 38, 38 (Proofreading section only). Do, also, write a sentence with each spelling word OR make up a crossword puzzle with 15 of the words.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Final draft due Tuesday, October 2, 2001.

EXPOSITORY ESSAY: "What rights are you willing to give up for National Security?"

LEGISLATIVE PACKET: The Legislative packet is due with the test Wednesday, October 3, 2001. Executive Branch is next.
