READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. Tom Sawyer is due at the end of November. Do a double entry journal; remember that one of the themes is "growing-up". November's general log is due 11/30.

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Unit 13. Basic: vegetable, vegetation, strategy, strategic, stability, stable, alternative, alternate, definition, define, remedy, remedial, immunize, immune, deprivation, deprive, indicative, indicate, infinite, finite. Review: narrative, narrate, harmony, harmonious. Challenge: mandatory, mandate, initiative, initiate. Do pp. 85-89. Do not do "Write a Help-Wanted Ad". Or alternate assignment for vocabulary.
