Homework Helps 2001-2 - Week 17
December 17-21, 2001
READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. Light in the Forest is due January 6, 2002. Do a double entry journal or acceptable alternative; remember that one of the themes is "growing-up". December's general log is due 12/21.
VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Unit 17. Basic: playwright, tragedy, metaphor, melancholy, propaganda, subtle, pageant, unanimous, extraordinary, enthusiastic, outrageous, pneumonia, khaki, adjourn, minuscule, siege, endeavor, prominent, wretched, flourish. Review: tongue, consequence, miniature, campaign, vacuum. Challenge: soliloquy, rhetoric, hypocrite, queue, susceptible. Do pages 108-113, except for "Write a Summary of a Play." OR: Write a sentence and definition for each word. OR: for an extra "A" make 20 analogies, similes, or metaphors in multiple choice format by Wednesday; turn it in as word file or e-mail it to me.

FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS: Projects are done in class, but are more colorful and fun if you bring colored masking or electrical tape.
