READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. The Outsiders is due February 12, 2002. The assignment for this will be a mural. Please remember that one of the themes is "growing-up". January's general log is due 1/31/02.

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Unit 20. Basic: conspiracy, diversion, transpire, convert, expire, advertisement, universal, reverse, perspiration, extrovert, diverse, respiration, vertical, controversy, versus, anniversary, aspire, versatile, introvert, invert.  Review: inspiration, intelligence, assignment, investigate, suspense. Challenge: adversary, revert, vice versa, inverse, vertebra. Do pages 126-131, except for "Write a Plot Outline" on page 129. OR: Write a sentence and definition for each word. OR: for an extra "A" make 20 analogies, similes, or metaphors in multiple choice format by Wednesday; turn it in as word file or e-mail it to me.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Chapter 2 test Thursday, January 31, 2002. Both poems and all four mind maps are due with it.

FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS: Assembly Line section and evaluation to be done in class.

OBSERVATION ESSAY: Second draft due 2/5/02.

LIGHT IN THE FOREST: Medicine bag due 2/6/02.
