READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. The assignment for The Outsiders is a mural. Please remember that one of the themes is "growing-up". February’s log is due 2/28/02. Read "The Devil and Daniel Webster" and read a book of your choice.

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING: Unit 25. Basic: produce, production, consume, consumption, reduce, reduction, retain, retention, detain, detention, introduce, introduction, resume, resumption, induce, induction, abstain, abstention, presume, presumption. Review: revise, revision, grateful, gratitude. Challenge: atrocious, atrocity, ferocious, ferocity. Do pp. 156-161 except "Write a Personal Budget." Test Friday. OR: write a definition and sentence for each word. OR: write analogies, similes, and metaphors for each word. Test Friday.

PROBLEM SOLUTION LETTER: Choose a person in authority to whom you wish to write a problem solution letter. I will send this letter when it is perfect, which means you will probably do several edited drafts. It is due before the end of the quarter, but begin your organization and thought collection now.

 

POETRY PROJECT: We will begin to write and collect poems for a project.
