READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. Read a book of your choice and keep a reading log. 

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING : Define each word as it applies to Chapter 24. WORDS: Wounded Knee, vigilantes, transcontinental railroad, appaloosa, Union Pacific, cowcatcher, Central Pacific, windmill, Chief Joseph, reservation, boomtown, cattle drive, subsidies, Oklahoma Land Rush, Chief Sitting Bull . Define, give the page where it is used, and write an original sentence with each one; also draw an icon for each. Due with the test on Friday.
