Homework Helps - September 25, 2000
READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. You will need to spend this time to finish the required literature books and books of your choice for book reports. Animal Farm. or The Giver. Double entry journal -- Due 9/28/00. There is a test on your last book 10/3/00; do not panic - it is a "just the facts, ma'am" test.
SPELLING: Unit 5 due Friday 9/29/00. There will be a test. Hand in the homework with the test. Words for this week: Basic - chord, cord, choral, coral, cymbal, symbol, aisle, isle, ascent, assent, stationary, stationery, site, cite, canvas, canvass, phase, faze, descent, dissent. Review - compliment, complement, capital, capitol. Challenge -callous, callus, caret, carat. Do pages 36, 37, 38, 38 (Proofreading section only). Do, also, write a sentence with each spelling word.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Final draft due 9/28/00.
CONSTITUTION TEST: This is a short answer, short essay, test. You must be able to tell how a bill becomes a law, your Congressional representatives' names, Congress' role in the system of checks and balances, representatives' qualifications, and list Congress' express and implied powers. Test 9/26/00.
