Homework Helps 2008 - 2009 - Week 8                                              Periods 1, 2, 4
September 29 - October 3, 2008

READING: Read a minimum of 20 minutes each night including weekends. Begin to read The Giver.  Keep a nightly reading log of the pages you have read.  Have your parent sign it before you turn it in. Due 10/10/08. 

VOCABULARY AND SPELLING:  List each word and derivitive words.  Words: assure, attain, attribute, authority, automate, available, behalf, bias, capable, capacity, category, cease, challenge, chemical, circumstance.  List a definition, original sentence, and an icon for each word.  It is due on Friday, September 26, and there will be a test. For a grade of "C" the standard is 10 words written correctly; "B" is 13 words; "A" 15 words. Completed homework is half the grade.  VOCABULARY AND SPELLING (Plan B)

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: 5 Paragraph essay. Staple all three drafts together with the final draft on top.  Final draft due 9/30/08.  Follow the Standards for Written Work Submission .

MIND MAPS :  Chapter 3.  Due with the test 10/1/08.  Begin Chapter 5.  Skip Chapter 4.
