STORY

Students create a fictional sequence of events which include a setting, character development, plot, conflict, and action.

CHARACTERISTICS AND FEATURES

1. First or third person may be used.

2. Details are used to develop a sense of time and place (setting).

3. The characters are developed using "show not tell."

4. The plot is a connected sequence of events.

5. The conflict may be between characters or between a character and the environment or
     within the character (man against himself).

6. The writer may include dialogue or description.

7.  A good story should include all story elements.
