Standards for Written Work
Submission
1. Final
drafts of written work are to be submitted in cursive in ink, or
typed. Ink is to be dark blue or black only. Rough drafts
may be in black pencil, in print if desired.
2. Paper should be 8-1/2 X 11 inches and white or
off-white. Multiple pages should be stapled or otherwise securely
bound. lined paper should be college or standard rule; torn
spiral bound paper is to be trimmed.
3. Assignments completed on a typewriter or word processor should
be double-spaced. Margins should be a minimum of 1" on all four
edges. Print size should be 12.
4. In the upper right hand corner or
on a title page, the
following information is required: Name (first and last), class,
period, and date of submission. title should be placed on the first
line,
and one line skipped before biginning the first paragraph.
5. Late work is not accepted. Work sent via Internet
carries date and time of submission.
6. Documentation standard is MLA format, as it is at Windsor High
School.
7. Assignments submitted on computer disk should be readable by
Microsoft Word (Windows 98 or earlier) or Appleworks
applications. .html, .doc, are acceptable formats and can also be
sent via e-mail as attachments or copy/paste. Adobe Page Mill
attachments are also acceptable.
8. Graphics files should be .jpeg or .jpg and as small as
possible to provide adequate viewing. A large project done on
computer is best submitted as a CD or floppy disk or by posting to a
personal web site if it cannot be printed. Do not send
large graphics files via e-mail.
9. Late work is not accepted. Work sent
via Internet carries date and time of submission. When
transmitting work, put "WMS - Your
Name" in the subject line; work without this information will
be placed by the mail program in the trash.
